Welcome to Synthyra, a platform for protein engineering research and development. We provide AI-powered tools for generating and analyzing protein sequences to advance scientific discovery and innovation.
1.2. Binding Agreement
By accessing the website (synthyra.com), creating an account, or using the Services, you agree to be legally bound by these Terms and Conditions and our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree to these terms, please do not use our Service.
1.3. Definitions
For the purposes of these Terms and Conditions:
• Service: The Synthyra platform and all associated tools and features
• User: Any individual or entity using the Service
• Account: A registered user profile on the platform
• Output: Protein sequences and other data generated using the Service

You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your password and account credentials. You are responsible for all activities that occur under your account, whether authorized or not.
2.3. Account Termination
By User: You may close your account at any time through your account settings.
By Synthyra: We reserve the right to suspend or terminate your account for violations of these terms, illegal activities, or prolonged inactivity.
Article 3: Intellectual Property & Data Rights
3.1. Synthyra's Ownership
Synthyra owns the Platform, the underlying protein language models, the website, and all associated branding and content (excluding User Outputs). All rights not expressly granted to you are reserved by Synthyra.
3.2. User Ownership of Outputs
You retain full ownership of the novel protein sequences and other data you generate using the Service ("Outputs"). These Outputs are your property and you have the right to use them as you see fit, subject to these terms.
3.3. Mandatory Attribution
Requirement to Credit: If any Output (or a derivative of an Output) contributes to a publication (e.g., scientific paper, preprint, poster), patent application, or a marketed product/service, you must provide proper attribution to Synthyra.
Form of Attribution: Recommended citation format: "Protein sequences were generated using the Synthyra platform (synthyra.com)"
Article 4: Acceptable Use Policy
4.1. Intended Purpose
The Service is intended for research, development, and innovation in protein engineering. All use must be lawful and ethical.
4.2. Prohibited Conduct (The "Harm Clause")
Absolute Restriction: You are strictly prohibited from using the Service to design, generate, optimize, validate, or test any biological agent, protein, or molecule intended for, or with the potential for, harming human health, agriculture, or the environment.
Non-Exhaustive List of Prohibited Targets:
• Toxins, venoms, or allergens
• Pathogenic agents or virulence factors
• Agents for biological or chemical warfare
• Any substance that could disrupt an ecosystem
• Any use that violates local, national, or international biosecurity laws or treaties
4.3. Other Prohibitions
You may not reverse-engineer the models, introduce malware, use automated scripts to overwhelm the service, or engage in any other activity that could harm the platform or other users.
Article 5: Disclaimers and Limitation of Liability
5.1. "As-Is" Service
The Service is provided without any warranties. Outputs are generated computationally and are not guaranteed to be accurate, viable, or fit for a specific purpose.
5.2. User Responsibility for Validation
You are solely responsible for any and all subsequent experimental validation, testing, and safety analysis of the Outputs.
5.3. Limitation of Liability
In no event shall Synthyra be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of the Service or the Outputs.
Article 6: Indemnification
You agree to defend and indemnify Synthyra against any claims or damages that arise from your violation of these terms or your use/misuse of the Outputs.
Article 7: Governing Law and Dispute Resolution
7.1. Governing Law
These terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the State of Delaware, USA.
7.2. Dispute Resolution
Any disputes arising from these terms shall first be resolved through informal negotiation. If resolution cannot be reached, disputes shall be settled through binding arbitration in accordance with the rules of the American Arbitration Association.
Article 8: General Provisions
8.1. Modifications to Terms
Synthyra reserves the right to update these terms at any time. We will notify users of material changes via email or through the platform. Continued use of the Service after changes constitutes acceptance of the new terms.
8.2. Severability
If any provision of these terms is found to be unenforceable, the remaining provisions shall remain in full force and effect.
